About

One desk for the people who defend things

Security news is scattered across dozens of newsrooms, government feeds, regulator filings and vendor blogs. SecOpsChat brings it together, reconstructs the incidents that matter, and is upfront about where every fact comes from.

Editorial standards

Sources first. Every news item links to the original reporting. Breach teardowns are built from primary material where it exists: SEC and other regulator filings, government advisories, court records, congressional testimony and the company's own statements. We list them on every teardown.

Facts, reporting and analysis are kept apart. Where numbers differ between sources, we say so. Where attribution is unconfirmed, we say "reported" or "attributed by" and name who made the claim.

No pay-to-play. Vendors can't buy coverage, change a teardown or move up the directory. Vendor Partner content is always labelled "Vendor content".

The analyst shows its work. Ask SecOpsChat searches current reporting and names its sources. It can still be wrong, so check citations before acting on an answer.

Privacy

If you subscribe we store your email, the topics you picked and, if you choose, your answers about your security work, to tailor the brief. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We never sell subscriber data. Partner vendors see aggregate interest only, unless you explicitly opt in to be contacted.

Chat questions are stored with a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) to enforce the daily allowance and improve answers. Answers are generated by Google Gemini. Don't paste secrets or customer data into the chat. Followed vendors and your chat history are kept in your own browser only. To delete your data, email privacy@secopschat.com.
